“Good Mornin’, Good Mornin’ to you!”
I just love the movie “Singing In The Rain” and sometimes wish I could always wakeup to the Mornin’ Song. I thought since I did stay up til 3:00 am it would be appropriate for this morning.
Another thing that I have decided to try in ‘the morning’ is this breakfast thing – you know all the healthy workout people swear by it it’s the most important meal of the day it jump-starts your metabolism it helps with weight loss.  So, with all these bold statements (get-it: bold statements, o.k. bad morning joke) I thought I would put it to the test.  I have been eating breakfast (or drinking breakfast – smoothies) for a few months now and I really believe these people have something.  My testimonial is that: yes, it does help get you going; yes, it does make you feel better and jump-start your day; yes, it does make me less hungry during the day; and last but most important – it has helped in my  weightloss program (keep in mind I have also included working out, cut back on portions, and made better food choices).  But, it really does help!
With all that said you all know what is next – I am going to show you my breakfast choices and share one recipe that I discovered.  The possibilities are endless and they are very easy.
There are smoothies, fresh fruit, eggs, turkey bacon, oatmeal, and on, and on.
And here is one more recipe that I thought I would share.
Oatmeal Bananas Foster
(I decided to try this combination because I like oatmeal and I like bananas.)
Ingredients:
oatmeal (fix oatmeal according to the package directions)
(the topping is for 2 bowls: one for you and one to share)
2 bananas (sliced and set aside)
1/4 cup of dark brown sugar
4 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
sprinkle of nutmeg for the top
(optional: 1/4 cup heavy cream)
or 3 tablespoons of fat-free milk to make it less heavy)
In a large, deep skillet over medium heat, melt butter.  Stir in sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon.  When mixture bubbles add heavy cream (or water), stir to mix.  Add the sliced bananas; mix in the syrup.  Remove from heat and divide the banana mixture and place on top of the 2 bowls of oatmeal. Just a sprinkle of nutmeg on the top of each serving.  (This just feels like a decadent breakfast; especially if you eaten alfresco.)
Well, I hope you try starting your day with ‘Breakfast’.  It does make it a better –
Good Mornin’
